Specimen Requirements

Call Microbiology Laboratory at 573-331-5147 to obtain a Pinworm Paddle Collection Kit prior to collection.

Specimen Type: Rectal

Container/Tube: Pinworm Paddle Collection Kit-Clear tape over glass slide is also acceptable.

Specimen Volume: 1 paddle

Collection Instructions:

1. Obtain specimen by using sticky side of paddle. Press over opening of rectum during night time when patient is sleeping or still.

2. Stool specimen is not acceptable.
