Blood and plasma are required.

Specimen Type: Whole blood

Container/Tube: Lavender top (EDTA) tube

Specimen Volume: 3 mL

Collection Instructions:

1. Do not centrifuge.

2. Label specimen as whole blood for platelet count.

Specimen Type: Platelet-poor plasma

Collection Container/Tube: Light-blue top (3.2% sodium citrate) tube; must be filled to line

Submission Container/Tube: Plastic vial

Specimen Volume: 2 mL

Specimen Minimum Volume: 1 mL

Stability: 3 Hours (A); 14 Days (F), if separated and immediately frozen at -20'C

Collection Instructions: Label specimen as plasma for PTT and PT.
